ABOUT THE PROJECT
Conservation emergencies can arise without warning. Disease outbreaks, extreme weather events, habitat disturbance, pollution incidents and other unexpected threats can place wildlife, habitats and entire ecosystems at risk.
The Emergency Conservation Response Programme provides a framework through which the Zaagkuilsdrift Conservation Foundation can support coordinated, science-informed action when urgent conservation challenges arise.
Working alongside conservation authorities, veterinarians, researchers, wildlife professionals and other authorised organisations, the Foundation can contribute resources, information, logistical support, specialist referrals and coordination according to the needs of each incident.
Our role is not to replace statutory authorities, veterinary professionals or established wildlife rescue and rehabilitation organisations. Instead, we strengthen conservation responses by helping bring together the people, expertise and resources needed when they matter most.
When conservation cannot wait, collaboration matters.
